How to use today's hints
The hints on this page open one layer at a time, so you can take exactly as much help as you need and no more. Start with a single nudge for the group you are stuck on — often one word is enough to see the rest. If that does not land, reveal the four category names; you will still have to work out which word goes where. The full grouping comes last, for when you would rather know than guess.
Where Sports Edition trips people up
Sports Edition is built from one subject, so the overlap between groups is much heavier than in the main game. A single surname can belong to two sports, a city can stand for three franchises, and a word like break, drive or pitch reads differently depending on which sport you had in mind.
The reliable move is to find the group where you are certain of all four words and lock that in first. Every word you remove makes the ambiguous ones easier to place. Save purple for last — it is usually wordplay rather than sports knowledge, and it resolves itself once the other twelve words are gone.
