Connections Solver
Enter the sixteen words from today's grid, then test your four groups before you spend a guess. The "aha" is still yours — this is a thinking aid, not an answer machine.
Paste all sixteen words separated by commas, spaces or new lines — or try the sample grid.
Pick a colour, then tap words to paint them. Tapping a word that already has the current colour clears it; tapping one from another group moves it across. When a colour holds four words, the picker moves on for you.
The grouping board needs JavaScript. Without it you can still readtoday's hints instead.
What this tool does
The solver is a scratchpad, not an oracle. Enter the sixteen words from any Connections or Sports Edition grid and colour them into groups of four. It keeps track of what you have committed to, so you can try a grouping, look at what is left, and change your mind — without burning one of your four mistakes in the real game.
How to use it well
Place the group you are certain about first, then look at the twelve words that remain rather than the four you just used. Most Connections grids are built so that one word looks at home in two groups; the remainder is what exposes it. If a colour will not fill to four, the mistake is usually in a group you already felt sure about.
The tool works for both editions — the rules and the grid are identical.
